Brint Cooper, You do have a “blog”, it’s just called Facebook!
If you’d like I could build you something akin to what I’ve got that allows you to post to your own site, but automatically syndicates everything to Facebook, Google+, Twitter, etc. and then pulls all the responses/comments back to your site. It could also allow you to write about and collect more of the technical things you’re interested in as well. I suspect your audience for those would find you pretty organically. I started just about 3 years ago at zero myself, but now have roughly 250 visitors per day and almost 8,500 comments and reactions to my posts.
I suspect you’d find more interesting things from a professional/technical perspective on Twitter with people in the following lists: https://twitter.com/ChrisAldrich/lists/informationtheorists/members and https://twitter.com/ChrisAldrich/lists/mathematicians/members. Let me know if i can help you get started, especially so that I can be the first reader.
I also keep a list of researchers and others’ whose blogs I’m following (sorted by broad categories) here: http://boffosocko.com/about/following
