@c Thanks for the link, Chris. 95 years is a ridiculously long time. In the EU, the position is similar but not identical. In the early 90s, just as the works of James Joyce and W B Yeats were coming out of copyright, the period was extended from 50 years from the creator’s death (not from the date of publication) to 70 years. So Joyce, Yeats et al. immediately went back into copyright (from which I believe they’ve since reemerged, but I haven’t checked).
