With the help of snarfed.org I've now got brid.gy running locally and syndicating RSVPs from my website to Meetup.com - hopefully it'll be live next week for the rest of the #IndieWeb to enjoy https://github.com/snarfed/bridgy/issues/873

After fixing over 200 typos in old posts related to date formatting I finally got my #eleventy site to build last night. Next up is integrating my existing #IndieWeb functionality.https://t.co/VlZ67L4Y3D

Basically it’s a way of using open source services to send content directly to websites or to “backfeed” it from social networks
A great look at our new feature for saving highlights from physical books

1. Take a picture of a page from a book.
2. Drag and drop markers to literally highlight the passage right on the picture and extract the quote.
3. Store the quote, take notes, attach it to the book. pic.twitter.com/Dzb2x6NQIa
I think? If you know how to send a Webmention, please do so that I know it works!
I’ve installed the IndieWeb plugin as well as its companions, Webmention and Semantic-Linkbacks.
The IndieWeb plugin adds a few semantic things to the user profile in WordPress and acts as a launch platform for ...
Let’s make a deal—you can write it all in JavaScript as long as you learn semantic HTML
As of today, I am the first woman of color to have ever been promoted to the rank of full professor in the USC English dept. I promise I will not be the last. Thanks to everyone who wrote for me, mentored me, drank w/ me. It took not only a village, but a world to make it happen.

@kimberlyhirsh you're my indiewebspiration right now, I need to develop a new personal website but I want it to be not corporate beholden garbage and also an endless content monster needing to be fed, any suggestions?

Neologisms like “indiewebspiration”.
I also try to do "No Screen Sundays" where I do anything not related to screens (exception for calling and texting especially if it's to meet with friends).

The IndieWeb movement had become somewhat a big deal for me in 2019. Potentially the biggest life change for the calendar year.

Personal news: I'm excited to announce that, starting in February, I will be in residence at the Santa Fe Institute for one year, as the inaugural Davis Professor of Complexity. I'm thrilled for this opportunity to work more closely with all the brilliant people at @sfiscience. pic.twitter.com/sjQ0QxiZGB

I love love love Instapaper. I should pay for premium. But I don’t like that all my highlights and notes get locked up in their proprietary system.
— Matt Maldre (@mattmaldre) December 30, 2019
Right now, I save all my Instapaper articles to PDF and make my highlights/marginalia in the PDF. I get to keep it.
Some good people I think you'd enjoy following and may not otherwise come up:

Just published two minimal packages to help building micropub applications!
The first one is called micropub-parser and it's basically a port from @aaronpk's pk3-micropub package to JavaScript.
The second one is a small IndieAuth middleware that can be easily plugged into an Express.js app!
