Watched January 9, 2019 | Amanpour and Company from PBS
Christiane Amanpour speaks with former U.S. Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel about what's at stake for the country; and film director Barry Jenkins about his new film "If Beale Street Could Talk." Michel Martin speaks with U.S. Rep. Stephanie Murphy about diversity and immigration.
I particularly like the discussion that Jenkins had toward the end of his interview and the example that he gave about a particular television show dedicating itself to only hiring female directors as a means of providing opportunity and then those women going on to direct other works. The thinking about the process portion definitely needs to be happening to create the change we all deserve.
