Replied toa thread by Timoni West, Trevor Flowers, Tantek Çelik (Twitter)
Hm. As I debate replying to one of my tweets with another just to make a digital connection, I realize I’ve started to use Twitter as a public memex. Other than actually building one (@TrevorFSmith) have folks tried this? Probably you, @t?
The closest app in terms of matching the docs+trails design of Bush's memex would be a local rich wiki like VoodooPad. But, I have daydreamed about a personal web app with those features and a bit of sharing. The DYI web community (including @t) often work in that 'hood.
1 year later notification from your like!@Timoni#IndieWeb folks are building & using their sites as memexes, with unique personal features. Twitter is not anyone’s memex but theirs; we POSSE copies there to invite others to explore ours.

A concept closely related to the memex, but which significantly predated it is the commonplace book and #IndieWeb definitely has some examples of that: https://indieweb.org/commonplace_book
