@chrisaldrich Swintec is the last company (that I know of) that still makes typewriters, primarily for the correctional institution market (thus most of their models have clear cabinets to prevent hiding of contraband).
@gloriouslyawkward Shanghai Weilv Mechanism Company also still actively manufacturers “typewriters”, but I wouldn’t recommend trying them out.
@chrisaldrich I remember the memories version sold in craft shops. Was intended for typing out words and short phrases for scrapbooks, not full documents. Dream machine would be an IBM Selectric like I used in high school office-skill classes.
