Supposedly they were leading a charge (failed charge) to show support in electing a Republican alternative.
Even more than shown didn’t vote for Clinton but they were replaced immediately with someone that would. I think 9 initially. NPR has a better description of it all.
Well that certainly doesn’t fit the narrative I was expecting!
