Some Googling about, some slapdash, baling wire, and duct tape and we’ve got something mostly automated to handwrite a /note post on paper with pen, take a photo which autosaves to Google Drive that does OCR into Google Docs which is picked up by IFTTT that does a webhook to Micropub draft post to my website which then auto syndicates to Twitter, Mastodon, and Micropub. https://boffosocko.com/2021/11/23/55798697/ 🎉

Chris, your discussion of a workflow of paper to post takes the idea of ‘paper blogs‘ to a whole new level.
I did think about doing something more complicated and thought about a zettelkasten notebook I’d looked at before which looked like this:
I really like the image on your paper blogs post as more befitting. Ultimately I thought I ought to keep it simple.
Perhaps a pre-printed booklet or notebook for each note would be a useful thing to have now that this is a “thing”?
I love this idea. I’m just getting back into both blogging and the IndieWeb and this has me wondering about new ways of sharing ideas.
Although, now I want to get a new fountain pen! I forgot how much I used to enjoy writing with one. 😉
The annual page for IndieWeb New Year’s Commitments is up. I always have trouble with coming up with something new and interesting to work on. (There are really so many things, to be honest, and so many that I ought to do, but which seem so droll… What might be fun!?!)
I was recently enamored of the idea behind Paper Websites, so I quickly wired up something as a minimal example. It works, but I’d like to commit to rounding off some of the rough edges, exploring other potential methods, maybe slipping in the ability to write HTML into it as well, and writing up some of the details of how I’ve done it.
As a stretch goal, I’m also considering publishing a physical paper notebook/journal to have as a companion to the project—a true “Paper Blog”. To be honest, this sounds like some quirky, creative fun, so maybe I’ll do it first. 😀
Nederland zit binnen. Is het niet door het slechte weer dan is het wel omdat we proberen onze weg te vinden in de ellende van de pandemie. Ik weet niet hoe het met jullie zit maar ik vind het allemaal een stuk vervelender dan voorgaande keren. Pandemoe! Hopelijk wordt 2022 echt wel beter, maar eerlijk…
