Linking became unnecessary because of the timeline. Now linking is most popularly used for dunking (QT). Corners of threaded-Twitter have redeemed the QT tho and opened up a lot.

This is a really good question re: @knovigator. I basically treat it exactly like I do Twitter but the interface allows me to edit them and expand/branch off these breadcrumbs into longer synthesis. I run public and private streams. The private ones are more like gardens.
