A typed white index card with purple ink which reads: I took apart a big chunk of my SMC Galaxie Deluxe this afternoon. It needed a bit of cleaning and one or two mechanical tweaks to be back in fighting shape. There was an issue with the shift key causing extra spaces to be inserted. It turned out that there was a slight bend in the bottom of the case that was causing a mechanical issue. It took some clever trouble- shooting to figure it out. But now the machine is back in circulation and ready to go with a brand new purple ribbon. When I can get around to it, I'll likely give it a solid deep clean and relubricate the major parts, but for now, given it's condition I'll let it go back into the rotation and spend some time working on some of the other machines. It could probably also use a quick polish on the hood, but that's also going to have to wait for another day.
