My collection of Royal Typewriters thus far. (There’s a missing Futura 800 which is on the bench in pieces for repair and restoration.)

Two rows of primarily gray and brown vintage typewriters on a wooden dining table.
Front (L to R): Quiet De Luxes from 1948, 1949, 1952, and 1955; Rear (L to R): 1950 KMG, 1955 HH, 196X 440

  1. That ‘48 Quiet De Luxe on the bottom left is a beaut. One of my bucket list typewriters. I have seven typewriters in my collection, but none of them are American. The Quiet De Luxe and an early 30s Corona Standard in burgundy are the only two machines still on my MUST HAVE list.

  2. I almost bid on that one with the hello kitty stickers, shopgoodwill was it?
I love Royal typewriters. They’re like a solid dependable truck.
Yeah, the Porsche and Ferrari get more attention, but something like the HH is about as perfect as a typewriter gets.
The Dreyfuss era portable is also perfect.
