Walt Mossberg is far from alone in giving up on Facebook. But as a leading technology journalist who has spent decades chronicling the impact of Silicon Valley’s policies, his exit from the social network speaks louder than most.
This is a HUGE silo quit! There are few who watch the technology sector so closely as Walt Mossberg has for the past several decades.

This post reminded me to close a few other social media accounts I haven’t used in years.
Mashable had a list of social media account finders several years ago that might help. Just remember to export any personal data you might want to keep before closing shop. I’ve got a huge list I’m going to slowly work my way through.

Twitter and Meetup.com are the only proprietary social networks I continue to use. Meetup makes the cut for in-person networking. Twitter remains for now.
