I realized that I haven’t been syndicating content to Mastodon.social in a while, but now that I’ve made some changes to my site and now get responses back via Brid.gy, perhaps I’ll change that?

It’s been a while since I’ve used it, but I notice that Mastodon Autopost, a WordPress plugin, wants to include titles now (but cleverly ignores them if they don’t exist), but will include an excerpt as the body. It also now allows for hashtags using categories (which I may need to massage to get working the way I want). Sadly, it looks like it doesn’t get the syndication links back. I’m pretty sure it used to do this in the past.
I tried out Syndication Links using Brid.gy publish, but it seems like the publish from Brid.gy is getting an error and the returned syndication link is
https://brid.gy/publish/mastodon
. I don’t think it’s an issue with my site since the Brid.gy preview looks like it should, but when sending from Brid.gy it errors out. I suspect it may be a Brid.gy issue and not a Syndication Links one.I’ll do some troubleshooting and circle back to see what can be done.
On the positive side,
that Twitter syndication via Syndication Links/Brid.gy is flawless now that I’ve properly configured my theme.@c I tried syndication to mastodon.social via bridgy but it stopped working and I’ve no idea why?
@c raised and my fingers crossed.
