Apple picking day! Got about 30 pounds which ought to make an apple pie or two.
I’m surprised not to have seen more wheel barrows…
The 30+ pound haul
Glad I brought the wagon this year.
Not a bad harvest despite the huge numbers of apples on the ground.
There’s a great view from the orchard.
Checkin Carmela Ice Cream & Sorbet
Stupidly expensive ice cream, but it’s awesome. Pumpkin spice is particularly good.

Checkin Nothing Bundt Cakes – Pasadena
What a great little shop and concept!
My first time in and they not only had some excellent samples, but comped my first bundt. I’m impressed at how on-message and lovely the entire concept of the store really was. I’m already guessing I know how I’m going to add 20 pounds before the holidays are over.
Kitchen Kong whisk–a must have tool for every cinephile foodie!
A great storefront that includes some very accessible entry ideas.
My pumpkin spice bundt cake. The cream cheese frosting really makes it.
Mecca!

Checkin Cross Campus Old Pasadena: Friday morning coffee meetup
Adventures in STEAM with a presentation by STEAM:CODERS founder Raymond Ealy
I’m going to have to volunteer some time to this organization.
Some caffeine and networking before the presentation
Cross Campus is a great place to host these types of meetups
Today’s Topic: Steam:Coders
Raymond Ealy has a great sense of humor!
After the meetup I had a grand conversation with Joe Love II about food. I hope we’ll manage to reconnect later on.
