When I started writing this post, it was about Facebook's decision to suspend Trump's account indefinitely, and at least until Joe Biden is inaugurated in a couple weeks. I had lots to say on that... and then Friday afternoon, Twitter...
“What excuse did we use not to ban him this time?”
There is no question that social media played a role in the siege and take-over of the US Capitol on January 6.
Platforms are rapidly removing Trump’s account or those affiliated with pro-Trump violence and conspiracies.
A different sort of NASCAR problem…
The 'Hemingway of 140 characters' has lost his favorite bullhorn.
After close review of recent Tweets from the @realDonaldTrump account and the context around them — specifically how they are being received and interpreted on and off Twitter — we have permanently suspended the account due to the risk of further incitement of violence.
Too little, too late, but nonetheless.
The article below was mentioned in another post. I think the technique is interesting enough for its own thread: Deep Habits: The Importance of Planning Every Minute of Your Work Day I call this planning method time blocking . I take time blocking seriously, dedicating ten to twenty minutes every evening to building my schedule for the next day. During this planning process I consult my task lists and calendars, as well as my weekly and quarterly planning notes. My goal is to make sure progres...

Macdonald High is having some serious cash flow problems. Everything is being cut back - evening snack is gone, the lab equipment is decrepit and the dorms are freezing at night. Worst of all, Bruno Walton and Boots O'Neal are being moved in with Elmer Drimsdale - the science geek. There's even talk of Macdonald Hall being put up for sale! Could this be the end of Canada's finest boarding school or do Bruno and Boots have a plan?

Clever little overlapping of three different types of fish. The B-plot with the detectives was well done amidst the usual antics of the Macdonald Hall gang.

Listen to the full Jan. 2 phone call. This audio has been edited to remove the name of an individual about whom the president makes unsubstantiated allegations. (Obtained by The Washington Post) About 3 p.m. Saturday, President Trump held an hour-long call with Brad Raffensperger, Georgia’s secretary of state, in which he repeatedly urged him to alter the outcome of the presidential vote in the state. He was joined on the call by White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows and several lawyers, including longtime conservative attorney Cleta Mitchell and Georgia-based attorney Kurt Hilbert. Raffensperger was joined by his office’s general counsel, Ryan Germany, and Deputy Secretary of State Jordan Fuchs. The Washington Post obtained a copy of a recording of the call. This transcript has been edited to remove the name of an individual about whom Trump makes unsubstantiated claims.
Interesting to note that Trump does 95% of the speaking on this call and most of it both bullying and repeating the same small handful of lies. What an abhorrent loser clown he is.
Trump’s threats aren’t performative—he’s pointing a loaded gun at democracy.
Congress must now act, not just to remove Trump—but to ensure that no president ever risks behaving in this way again.
Republicans must distance themselves from the president, and join their colleagues in ending his tenure.
