The bobcat and the peacock
While enjoying the morning, I saw a bobcat skulking across the street. He disappeared into the neighbor’s back yard. Moments later, he was followed by a peacock who was honking all the way to warn the neighborhood about the danger. The peacock’s family was about a half a block away doing their morning forage.

I swapped it out in July and it should still have had a few weeks/months left in it, but the fires apparently have caked it up. Based on previous changes of filters in the house every 3 months, this looks like about 2 years or more of dust build up. Changed it because the filter seemed to be whistling in the ducting.
“Eaton Canyon Natural Areas & Trails are closed for the rest of today & Memorial Day, May 25, due to overwhelming crowds that were not following the COVID-19 public health requirements. No walk-ins” the Los Angeles County Parks & Recreation tweeted on Sunday.
The neighborhood has been overly busy since Friday at around noon. I’ve never seen so many people parking (even past our block) in the neighborhood to go hiking over here. Memorial day would have been insane if they didn’t shut it down.
Eaton Canyon was crazy yesterday, but it’s positively insane today. Parking extends beyond Harding now.
It’s drizzling down here, but 4,683 feet up (and a scant 4.167 miles from the front door) it’s snowing!

It’s been raining so frequently since it finally got hooked up that I’ve only just gotten out to program the Hunter water sprinkler system for our yard/garden. Hopefully everything stays as nice and green as it’s gotten with all the rain since early November.

It’s probably all for the best that this peafowl is in off the street.
Spent about 3 hours today pulling out weeds from the yard as a result of the horrific job that Armstrong Nurseries and their sub-contractor did or more specifically didn’t do.
