@ross, This sounds like an interesting IndieWeb version of analytics. I’ll bet you might find some interest there. You’d certainly find some who might try using it. I like the ethical way it sounds like you’re designing it.

I love this follow up to Om from Brent Simmons:
"to read a good blog is to watch a writer get a little bit better, day after day, at writing the truth."
👓 a note by Brett Simmons
Here’s a provisional thought (all thoughts on a blog are provisional) — to read a good blog is to watch a writer get a little bit better, day after day, at writing the truth.

👓 Andrew Jordan reviews Peter Woit’s Quantum Theory, Groups and Representations and finds much to admire. | Inference
Andrew Jordan reviews Peter Woit's Quantum Theory, Groups and Representations and finds much to admire.
For the tourists, I’ve noted before that Peter maintains a free copy of his new textbook on his website.
I also don’t think I’ve ever come across the journal Inference before, but it looks quite nice in terms of content and editorial.
👓 Ed-Tech That Makes Me Want to Scream | Inside Higher Ed
I'm not losing my mind yet, but it's close.
This makes me want to write out a full thesis of the fact that there’s a limit to individual human knowledge. Perhaps I could call it the Aldrich limit as a corollary to Shannon’s limit? I suspect it could be a part of a larger thesis about the various levels of knowledge and how to protect freedom.

Lakoff said the president manipulates language to control the public narrative.
👓 LaTeXiT | chachatelier.fr
Should LaTeXiT be categorized, it would be an equation editor. This is not the plain truth, since LaTeXiT is "simply" a graphical interface above a LaTeX engine. However, its large set of features is a reason to see it as an editor; this is the goal in fact.

hat tip
Ever since I read “The Sass Jerk”, I think of it every time I feel myself getting a bit too evangelical about some tech. I think to myself, “OK, better tone it down or I’ll be the https://t.co/GotRar26hi jerk.” https://t.co/WwfEnShqKb

👓 Hello Goodbye | Casting Out Nines | The Chronicle of Higher Education
Today I want to officially announce the end of one era at this blog and the beginning of a new one. Beginning Fall 2015 (I don’t know the exact date), the Chronicle of Higher Education will no longer be hosting Casting Out Nines. The article you are reading now is the last one I will be posting at...
Ran across this as I was updating my following list. I suspect after having done this for several years he wishes he had maintained his own blog and syndicated out to the Chronicle. He’s also got some interesting thoughts on the community he encountered in this new space that he didn’t/couldn’t control himself.
